Tonight, our night is darker

a light, has left us

a dear friend, gone home

sadness surrounds us at our loss

our tears fall from a broken heart

tonight, the stars are less bright

the music, melancholy

as we remember, as we remember

the light we have lost

gone home

no more will we hear their laughter

share the moments, that memories are made from

now, memories, are all we have

no more, will we know their presence

see them, read their messages and words

yet we will remember, always remember

tonight, our world is darker

since their light, has left

we will no more in this life time

stand in their presence

share moments, special and lasting

but always, they will be with us

their love, their memory

treasured in our heart

held tightly in thought

until that time, we stand together again
