in You

This thorn in my side grows

I am weary Lord

this pain, will it never leave

I ache, in that ache, I turn to You

seeking Your healing

seeking, a moment with You

peace, I come Lord

to find sanctuary from the pain

pulling at me, draining my strength

I tremble in exhaustion

sleep is futile, rest is impossible

for the pain torments me

nights are only slightly easier than day

intermittent sleep, giving me brief moments

then the pain returns angry for those moments

determined to make me pay, make me feel the agony

of this thorn in my side

I come to You Lord, trusting believing

in Your healing love

I give to You, this pain

take it from me

help me Lord, help me

to find rest in You

safe, secure in Your peace
