until the ends of the ages

The moments that fear comes crawling

sneaking into my being

my spirit and strength threatens to wilt

before the darkness and cold

You are my strength, I turn to You

readily and quickly turning away

from the fog of fear, rolling in

attempting to hide the light

that is You

seeking, to drag me down

away from You, my Lord

my source of strength in all things

The moment, that fear begins

I hear Your voice, speaking in my heart

reminding me of Your presence

You are with me, my Guide and my Strength

there is no need to fill the fear

for You have banished all reason to be afraid

You stand with me, You are my Rock in times of trouble

You are All things

no matter how high the waves may reach

coming crashing down onto the shore of my life

You are here

as the winds gather strength, tearing at all it passes

You are here

with a word, You calm the storms

send the clouds of darkness away

Your Light a bright shining beacon

leading the way

You have said, to be Your child,

a Believer a Follower of You

will not be an easy path

there will be struggles, there will be storms

as we make our way

but You have said, we are not alone

You are with us, always with us

even until the ends of the age

when fear comes crawling, attempting

to weaken me, drive me into hiding

I turn to You

for You have not given us a spirit of fear

but one of strength, faith and hope

You are my strength

You know Lord, the pain

that flows in my wounded heart

You know

and I know, You understand

the tears that fall, unabated

down reddened cheeks

the sobs held within

silent the pain

but You know, and You understand

when I come to You, yet again

pleading for strength to endure

I feel You move within my heart

Your strength is what I need

to walk through this rain of sorrow

I know, that the evil one knows our weakness

knows where to strike

in the hope of drawing us from You

weakening the bonds of our relationship with You

understanding that Lord, I seek You

making You the foundation of my strength

the rock on which I stand

as I kneel here before You Lord

lifting arms of supplication and pleading

fill me, I ask, with Your strength

for Your strength is more

Your strength is greater

than any storm

light my way to Your peace

lighten this burden to a level less intense

I carry my cross Lord for You

every where that I travel

this storm that is the thorn in my side

I bear as I can

even as I ask, give me strength

to bear it better, to endure without comment

so that others will not wonder

of my faith, for it is strong in You

I know, that You know my storms

I know, that You understand my pain

the tears that fall from the wounded heart

I hand it all to You Lord

pass it on to You

for no storm can match Your power

no storm can withstand Your strength

You are an awesome God

Almighty and powerful

I hand the storms to You Lord God

asking only, for Your strength

and Your wisdom

for the peace that comes from You

for the next storm that comes

for I know it will come

it is my weakness

Be Still

The rain falls

and the path, washed away

blinded by raindrops

or is it teardrops

I stumble, falling into the mud

swirling about my feet

struggling, I stand

covered in rainwater and mud

I see myself reflected in the windows

raindrops leaving trails streaking downward

as my life

spiraling swiftly down

how, how I had fallen so far

how, how do I rise from this

slow steps forward

hunched over against the cold

as the rain runs down my cheeks

down my back

I shiver from the feeling

tremble in the heartache

how, had I fallen this far?

darkness surrounds me

the only sound, that of the rain

falling, striking pavement, striking mud

striking my chilled face as I turn to look skyward

only the grey of the clouds

and the falling rain

Seeking shelter from the rain

sanctuary from the suffering

I stumble on

Be still

Be still and know

Words forming in a broken heart

a warmth beginning

deep inside

Be Still

Be still and know

know ..what?

That I am God

I am with You

even until the end of the age

Surreptitious glances around me

no one stands near

no one pays mind

to the bedraggled soul

standing in the rain

Be still

Be still and know

What is it that You wish?

Why is it, You speak to me now?

I stand here, in this rain

the storms breaking around me

I too, am broken

in spirit, in heart

lost to this place, lost to the dark

what is it, that You want of me

Be still

be still and know

that I Am

Build Your house upon me

no storm can tear down, what is built on the Rock

The trembling in my heart

different

understanding, of what I had been seeking

a light, dawning before me

healing love, flows through me

as I stand, in the rain

not so cold now

as I listen, hearing the voice of the Lord God

speaking to me

Be Still

Be still and know

I am, the Bread of Life, I am the Living Water

Partake of this and need no more

Falling to my knees I cry

cradling my face in my hands, I cry

Lord my God, how I have sinned

how I have fallen so far

forgive me I cry, I was wrong, I understand now

my heart repeating the mantra

in my heart, I feel the warmth begin

I feel the changes, begin

dawn's light begins to brighten the sky

as the rain ceases to fall

standing from the rain

I know, I am changed

never to be the same

different

even as mud clinging to my person

washed away by the last few raindrops

my soul, is cleansed, washed clean in the knowledge

saved in the merciful grace

I am different, I am new

I stand amazed, I kneel, humbled
