Keep my steps true Lord

as I walk with You

keep my words honest

without fault

keep me strong and faithful

answer Your call to them

my actions, Yours

let me Lord, I ask, reflect Your light

find not my Lord

hypocrisy in me

let Your Spirit, abiding in me

With each step that I take

every heart beat every breath

I know, I will see You

along the way

You are here with me always

within my heart, by my side

You place before me great beauty

in the landscape and the skies

with each step, every blink

I see the gifts You have placed before me

the colors that stretch out underfoot

as a carpet of Your love

I see life created by Your hand

each with purpose

a miracle in itself as everything works as planned

as I walk, with eyes open I see You

along the way

the music of this life plays

filling my ears

a song and joy to the heart

In the winds blowing through the leaves

the river that flows, dancing to the sea

the humming of the bees

all music, Your song

I find along the way

Your peace fills me

Your comfort covers me

in my knowledge of You

With Your very presence in my life

here with me, within me

I know no matter what may come, all is well

even in the beauty, there are storms

for in the storms is where we grow

stronger in faith, closer in relationship

in the storms and battles we turn to You

seeking You and all You are

these things of You I know I will find

I know I will draw close to me

as I go with You

along the way

Help me Lord, to remember what's important

not to never to allow, my own thoughts and worries

to consume me, to overcome and over shadow

what is really important, Your children

those around me that are suffering and weary

let me see them Lord, recognize their need

give me wisdom in You Lord, to share

give me strength to reach out and lift up

helping those that are among us, that are in need

You were here among us

You walked the dusty roads, reaching out

to all that You passed,

teaching, explaining, healing

You saw not only to the emotional needs

but to the physical as well

Your love, so great

Your love, enough

Help me Lord, to remember

that as I make this journey to You

walking along with You with me

that I take the time, that I open my eyes

to see those that You have placed in my path

that I may reach out to them, lift them

from where they have stumbled

share with them, the news of You

reaching out in a way that You would

acknowledging, You. How You care for all

and all that is needed by those suffering

Speak to me, let me hear and recognize Your voice

understanding what You would have me do

go where You would have me go

living a life, that glorifies You in all ways

Help me Lord

to remember

it isn't about me

my wants, my needs, my concerns

it is about You Lord

as I walk this road

 

That I walk this road in strength of You

Your peace and love flowing through me

to those around me

that I am able, in act and word

to share all that You are to me, with all that will hear

how You are with me, always.

It is easy, to allow things of this life

to over come our strength

it is easy, to allow worries and fears to grow

so I ask, always for Your peace

in my life, so I may live it out for those around me

that watch and see, how I deal with life's blows

that I walk this road, in Your light and path

Your hand on my life, guiding me

keeping me on Your course, lighting the way

my Shepherd, my Guide, my Strength

You are my Sanctuary always

I run to You, when this path grows tiresome

I run to You, when I grow weak

Keep Your hand ever on me Lord

Storms may come at any time

but I know, You are my strength in all things

how gracious is Your way

You reach out to me

draw me near to You

on the days of my sadness

Mistakes I have made

following temptations that come

falling away

standing here in the storms

I have in my error created

I know, how I know

I was wrong

to listen to a voice that called

come and see

view what is here, available

ready, for the taking

come and see

I was wrong, so very wrong

when I listened to the voice

calling to me, whispering

listen, hear what is available

take it into yourself

enjoy the sounds, the words

listen

when I heard that same voice

calling, teasing, taunting me

come and see, taste what is here

feel it as it flows across willing lips

come and take advantage of this

enjoy this

I stumbled and I fell

when I listened to the voice

calling from the sides of the path

calling from the edge of the darkness

I was wrong

how wrong

so wrong

and I know this

Now Lord, my God my Savior

I know

this is not something I can fix alone

I cannot correct my errors

fight the temptations

alone

I know my Lord

I need You

for You have promised a way out

You have promised to me

strength from You

lift me Lord from this

for You are the only way

back to the light

back to the right path

away so far away

from the wrongs

temptation follows, calls

in the face of the enemy

for our enemy surrounds us

a storm, circling, building

growing in force

knowing our every weakness it grows

too easy it is, to fall away

hiding from the storm in fear

crying out in the thunder

that rumbles across the way

so easy Lord, it is so easy

to fall away

see me here, trembling

seeking You, for You Lord, are my strength

I cling to You

with every moment of time that passes

seeking You, seeking to hide away in You

my fingers cling tightly, entertwined

in Your robe of words

given to us to drape about our person

a shield against the storm

my heart, soaked in Your word

food for the hungry Spirit

drink for the thirsty Soul

You know, Lord, how easy it is

for man to fall away

when the storms come

darkness covers our sight

With humble heart, I come

kneeling before You, Creator of All

The One who with a word

made all things, from nothing

Who from the dust of the earth

created man

and from the rib of man

gave life to woman

The One, who filled the skies with all manner of fowl

Who filled the seas and the land with beast and fish

kneeling here, I realize

how small I am

but how precious to You

born with a nature of sin

growing to a life of stumbling

falling into the darkness of temptations
