finished is our work

we come to You

doing all we can

sharing the words

the blessings

of Your love

when this, our time is done

our work finished

the light that was our life

extinguished

we come to You

leaving behind those

to carry that light on

lighting other candles

lighting other lamps

with love and peace

with acts of kindness

You love us, offer to us the gift

of sweet forgiveness and peace

saved from worldly, sinful ways

we go out, a light to You

when this, our time is done

our work finished

we come to You

to kneel at Your feet

listening for the words

well done
